Classics/Universe Skylynx 2.0 by Unicron9 Classics/Universe Skylynx 2.0 by Unicron9
As I said back when I did it, my first Skylynx like this was just an idea I had that I squeezed in between doing commissions.
It was a bit rushed because I don't like making customers wait, but people generally seemed to really like it.

This time the plan was to take that idea and make the best of it I could. I wanted to improve on the few things people mentioned that could be better, and do a few things I wished I had time to do the first time.

This version, Skylynx 2.0, has lots of little changes. I hope you guys like it!

- MUCH more clean and detailed paint work. (still sticking to the factory clean toy look though.)
- Sharp little teeth for the bird monster and dragon mode.
- Legs of the TFP Soundwave base figure were sculpted together and some seams were filled and sanded for a more seamless look.
- Birdy legs are permanently attached. You cant remove them for a sleeker UAV mode, but they wont fall off either.
- More robotic lynx head and front claws.
- Lynx head is now on a ball joint neck.

Hmmm.... Now I'm beginning to wonder how he actually looks in the original soundwave transformation with the new paint

Dunno. I sculpted the legs together and removed the head so no more bot mode.

I think it was around $500, which was kind of a steal considering the first one wasn't nearly as good and sold for over $700...

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTT $500 DOLLARS THAT IS LIKE THREE MASTERPIECE FIGURES OR AN XBOX 360 AND A COLLECTORS EDITION FOR A GAME OR 1000 GUMBALLS! :iconohmygodplz: I was expecting $100, $150 at most but between $500 and $700 is your prices. oh though I gear did sell repaints of g1 toys for $60. This version is so much cleaner and ominous compared to the last one (which I also liked but damn!). You've done Sky Lynx justice with this rendition!

Thanks! Since the first one got so much credit for originality and the idea working well or whatever, I wanted to actually do one right.

This is insanely awesome! The work you did on the Dinobird part of your Sky Lynx looks amazing considering that the mold is supposed to turn into a humanoid robot. :D

Hah well I did use different shades of red to keep the colors G1 correct but still detailed.
Thanks man. The first one was just a quick idea made of scraps from recent commissions. I had time to really do it right this time, or as right as I can do anyway.

can i recommend a modification for laserbeaks legs?
it makes them more poseable
just unscrew the legs, take the lower parts and just interchange them, since the feet are balljoint, still will be facing correctly, that gives you a better "legs" and articulation, the downside is you have to rotate the feet backwars to collapse them, and will be a little more noticeable than before, but at least will collapse nicely

That sounds cool. I wouldnt want to hurt the way they look retracted though, or take all the photos again, heh. I'll keep that in mind if I work with the Laserbeak figure again though!

but it came out better than i though, and yes, it gives it better legs and better leg articulation
