Autobot E Work in progress

I've been planning and working at this for months and it is finally starting to come to life.
The premise is that Picard's crew finds evidence that the Borg have greatly enhanced their tech through studying an alien artifact. An away team infiltrates the Borg cube and steals their data and the relic, but soon after the relic is on board the entire Enterprise begins to change on its own. Impulse engines get 2X faster, shield strength more than doubles, and various small structural changes appear each day. The only decipherable information recovered from the stolen Borg data is the location of the relic's planet of origin... a planet called Cybertron. So the crew sets course for the alien world and on arrival they encounter a massive Borg fleet. Under heavy fire and with all hope seemingly lost, the Enterprise begins instructing personnel to evacuate to specific areas of the ship, then transforms to an enormous humaniod robot to take on the threat, all on its own, as though it was somehow now... alive.

Its all still pretty rough right now but I have everything pretty much planned out. Originally the saucer section was going to split in half and rotate to the rear of the bot mode shoulders as wings, but it looked like beetle wings. I didn't like it.
Eventually I decided the saucer would be removable to become a large shield, since the E saucer hull makes a bad ass looking shield. It will also be able to attach to his back when not used as a shield.
Nothing else parts-forms (as long as my plans work out without too much sacrifice in either mode). The starboard nacelles will act as heels to the feet and will be aligned along the sides of the legs. I am considering making them removable to become a big double plasma discharge cannon, or warp wings on the shoulder backs, but I don't know about that just yet. Even if that is just an option, it might make him seem a bit parts-formery.
The robot head top will have the main deflector on it, which will be visible from the front. I'm hoping to make it look like a crown on the head or something- but I'm getting ahead of myself now...
It will be a while before this build is finished, then lots of painting and TONS of decals to add.

this is shockingly amazing...I can't wait to see the final product. In terms of transformer size, the Enterprize would probably dwarf Omega Supreme, since it seems more like the size of the Arc...I think the only transformer it could compare to is the final boss from War for Cybertron...Trypticon...or maybe Metroplex. OH! I would love to see this thing fighting Borg cubes alongside of Metroplex!

This is a pretty cool looking, all in all. It might have worked better as two toys which combined, but it looks like your much too far along as it is.

This is, beyond any doubt, awesome! Your WIP is already epic in it's own right. I can't wait to see the end result. I understand this is a prototype, but wouldn't it be easier to sculpt/assemble if it were scaled up just a bit? I'm curious because I've never done anything like this (aside from customizing my old GI Joes when I was a kid). Regardless of scale, good job!

Thanks.
The whole primary thing that has to happen before anything else, is finding a figure that can possibly become the Starship Enterprise E. No matter how much modding, cutting, and sculpting you do, you can't just make one from any figure. I played around with lots of figures, then narrowed it down to just a few, then went with this one in the end. Deciding scale right off the bat would be an option if it was a full scratch build maybe, but the base figure determined the size here.

good concept and interesting design so you going to keep it in that scale or do you think you would eventually up the scale to add in more details?

Oh I'm definitely not thinking that far ahead yet. Just trying to make a good Transformer of my favorite starship. :)

and an impressive job so far, if ya did scale it up I would not mind buying one so what kind of weapon do you think you would make for it? like an energon sword, a glass gas cannon, or maybe a good ol fashioned BFG? sorry my inner transformer and star trek nerd is breaking out

I'm thinking his weapons are built into the arms, or the ship phasers and quantum torpedoes even. I plan to make that somewhat obvious with the paint work and maybe certain sculpted parts.
If I can work a sword into alt mode, that's something I'd like to do too. I have an idea for that, but mostly I'm trying to get the basic build done first.

I definitely don't plan to sell this one or make another to sell. I doubt it would make enough to cover the hours I'm putting into it at all. I'm just doing something I've wanted to make for a long time. :)

well I certainly looking forward to seeing the finished product, either way it's an impressive project even if you don't mass produce it

That should be in the next Star Trek movie, after all it's done by the same writers.
